Star Nicholas Returns To Defend On Trust Title

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2009) — Defending champion Star Nicholas, who provided trainer Peter Eurton with his first Hollywood Park stakes win in the 2008 running, heads a field of nine California-breds in Saturday’s 26th running of the $75,000-added On Trust Handicap.
Star Nicholas, a 6-year-old with five wins in 20 starts for earnings of $347,263, won the Windy Sands Handicap at Del Mar before finishing third in the nine-furlong Cal Cup Classic. He will shorten up to 7 ½ furlongs in the On Trust, which lines up as follows from the rail out:
Big Bad Leroybrown, with Tyler Baze up, will carry 118 pounds; Mr. Wolverine, Christian Santiago Reyes, 111; My Summer Slew, Victor Espinoza, 115; Nikki’sgoldensteed, Joseph Talamo, 121; Bestdressed, Joel Rosario, 114; Star Nicholas, Michael Baze, 121; One Track Mind, Martin Pedroza, 115; Enriched, Garrett Gomez, 116, and Dance With Gable, Rafael Bejarano, 121.
