Rested Get Funky Back For Another Shot In Inglewood Handicap

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 1, 2008) - Get Funky will try to overcome a six-month layoff in the 68th running of Saturday's $100,000 Inglewood Handicap at Hollywood Park.

The speedy 5-year-old, who won the Morvich Handicap while making his most recent start in October, finished fourth in the 2007 Inglewood before finishing second to The Tin Man in the Shoemaker Mile.

Get Funky, trained by John Sadler for Keith Abrahams, is the richest horse in the field of nine with five wins in 13 starts for earnings of $500,438. He will break from the seven-post under jockey Michael Baze.

The entire field for the 1 1/16-mile Grade III event on the Lakeside Turf Course will line up as follows from the rail out:

Ghosttrapper, with Jon Court up, carries 113 pounds; Uffizi, Brice Blanc, 113; El Roblar, Victor Espinoza, 118; Neroi Do Bafra, Aaron Gryder, 115; Hello Sunday, Martin Garcia, 114; Rather Be Lucky, Joel Rosario, 112; Get Funky, Michael Baze, 119; Mr Napper Tandy, Alex Solis, 115, and Storm Military, 117.

The Inglewood will run as the fifth of 11 races at Hollywood Park on Saturday as the track imports the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby and the entire card from Churchill Downs. Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. with the first import at 8 a.m. The first live race at Hollywood Park will run at 12 noon. The Kentucky Derby runs following the fifth race at Hollywood Park with a 3:04 p.m. post time.

Stonestreet Stables' El Roblar has also won five of 13 starts, earning $323,946. The 6-year-old horse won the Ack Ack Handicap here on Cushion Track at the 2007 Spring/Summer Meet. In his lone start this year, the Richard Mandella trainee finished third in the Potrero Grande Handicap.

Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel entered a trio of horses - Argentine-bred Storm Military, Brazilian-bred Heroi Do Bafra and French-bred Hello Sunday. The former has won eight of 15 starts, including the Thunder Road Handicap over Mr Napper Tandy three starts back at Santa Anita.

Ghosttrapper steps up after back-to-back wins in the claiming ranks; Uffizi enters following an allowance score, and Rather Be Lucky also vacates the allowance ranks.
