INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 11, 2008) - Hollywood Park will continue its recent tradition of Friday night racing during the 2008 Spring/Summer Meet with ten of the popular evening programs during the track's 70th anniversary meeting.
The first of the ten Friday night programs is slated for April 25 when Hollywood Park's popular concert series begins in the Ascot Terrace following the nine-race program.
Blues Traveler, the rock band best known for its hit songs "Run-around," "Hook" and "But Anyway," will perform at 10:30 p.m.
The Friday night festivities at Hollywood Park will include $1 draft beer until 9 p.m., and $1 Pepsi and hot dogs throughout the night.
Concert admission is free with Clubhouse admission of $10. Following the horse races, admission to the concert is $20.
There will be Friday night concerts on ten of the 12 Fridays during the 60-day meeting. There is no Friday night racing on May 2 (eve of the Kentucky Derby) and on Friday, July 4. Matinees will be held on each occasion.
